Title: Thermionic emitter with balancing thermal conduction legs

Abstract: A thermionic emitter has a flat emission surface that is subdivided byslits into generally spiral or serpentine conductor sections, the surfacehaving legs extending therefrom that form part of the current supplyterminals and that also serve for securing the emitter. Each of these legshas a portion with a longitudinal electrical resistance that is elevatedcompared to that of the conductor sections, such that areas of maximumtemperature migrate from the middle of the emitter to its edges as theheating current increases.
